Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Mindex desktop app and this website. Mindex is operated by AAV Advisory Services LLC (mkr. Vostok-5, dom 17, kv. 58, Sverdlovskiy rayon, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan). Mindex is free during the private beta. It is proprietary software — you get a licence to use the app; the source code is not publicly released.

1. The software

Mindex is a desktop app that helps you write and organize notes and work with AI agents over a local Markdown vault. Approved testers may install and use the beta for personal and commercial work. You may not resell, redistribute, or decompile it.

2. Account

Mindex requires an account during the private beta. You can use email, Google, or GitHub to sign in. Your account stores identity, access, session, onboarding, download, activity, and feedback data described in the Privacy Policy. Your account must be accurate and kept secure. You are responsible for activity performed through it.

3. Your content

You own your notes. They are stored locally on your device, and we claim no rights to them. Mindex does not upload your vault to Mindex servers. When you invoke AI features, your prompt and any vault content that Mindex includes or that the selected CLI reads may be processed by Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google under your account with that provider. AI output may be inaccurate — review it before relying on it.

4. This website

The website provides account management, beta-access requests, approved downloads, onboarding status, activity summaries, feedback, and optional product email. It uses PostHog analytics only after cookie consent. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

5. Payments & subscriptions

There is no paid plan or checkout during the private beta. If Mindex introduces a paid plan, its price, billing period, included features, cancellation terms, and refund terms will be shown before you purchase it.

6. Disclaimer & liability

The software and website are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Mindex.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
