One vault for study, work, business, and life — as plain Markdown on your disk. Mindex keeps your context in sync, with voice, tasks, Git, and an AI that already knows what you’re working on.
One local vault for notes, tasks, voice, and AI
Notes, a Kanban board, a timeline, voice capture, version history, and an AI engine that already knows your context — all on plain files you own, with no accounts and no cloud.
An AI engine that lives in your vault
Chat that reads your actual notes — draft, refactor, and capture with real context, on your Claude subscription.
Folder Context Engine
CLAUDE.mdA CLAUDE.md per folder, auto-maintained — the engine always has your context.
Kanban, built in
KANBAN.mdTo Do → In Progress → Done, drag-to-move — saved to KANBAN.md.
Zoomable timeline
Every deadline on a zoomable axis with a live “today” line.
Voice & dictation
Record in chat or dictate anywhere — transcribed locally with whisper.cpp.
Just Markdown on disk
~/vault/ideas.mdPlain .md + YAML in a folder you own. The filesystem is the database.
Wikilinks, backlinks & search
[[Roadmap]][[Links]] both ways, full-text search, and a command palette.
Local file history
Every write versioned — restore any past version, non-destructively.
Typed notes
People, projects, calls — lenses over your vault, not rigid schemas.
Local-first & private
No cloud, no lock-in. Free on macOS, Windows & Linux.
Everything works on your
Claude Subscription
Notes, a Kanban board, a timeline, voice capture and full version history — all as plain Markdown in one vault you own. A Folder Context Engine keeps a CLAUDE.md map per folder, so the built-in chat already knows what you’re working on. And it all runs on your existing Claude subscription — no API keys, no per-token billing.
- Folder context engine
- Voice & dictation

Just files, on your disk
~/vault/ideas.mdEvery note is a plain .md file in a folder you control. Delete the app and your knowledge is still right there.
Structure with frontmatter
type: projectAdd typed YAML fields when you want structure — projects, people, goals — and stay free-form when you don’t.
Wikilinks & backlinks

One vault for everything
you know
Study, work, business, life — kept as ordinary Markdown files you own. No database, no lock-in. Read them in any editor, search them from the terminal, back them up with Git.

Hey! I’m Dmitriy
Claude Code is a genuine superpower — it changed how I think and what I can build. So I built Mindex — a real productivity system that can be your second brain, your advisor, your manager — whatever you need. Claude lives inside your work, follows your tasks, and holds your context, so you stop re-explaining yourself every time.

Frequently asked questions
Yes — Mindex is free to download and use right now. No account, no trial limits, no credit card.
Entirely on your machine, as plain Markdown files in a folder you choose. There is no Mindex server and nothing is uploaded. If you want sync, you point it at your own Git remote.
Native desktop builds for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Download the latest installer from mindex.live — no app store, no account required.
Like Obsidian, Mindex is a local-first Markdown vault. The difference is the AI: instead of a chatbox bolted onto a folder, the agent lives inside your vault and stays in sync with your context — plus built-in voice, Kanban, a timeline, and a Git client.
No account to use Mindex, and your notes stay on your machine. The agent runs on your own Claude subscription; only the text you ask it to work on is sent to Claude. Voice notes are transcribed locally with whisper.cpp.
Yes. A real Git client is built in — stage, commit, push, and pull to a remote you control. Because everything is just files, your vault stays portable and yours.
Just email me — bugs, ideas, requests. Mindex is built by one person, so your feedback goes straight to the source.
