Ask for the result as a Word, Excel, PDF or Markdown file, written into the vault.
An answer does not have to stay in the chat. Ask for it as a file and it is written into the vault.

Ask the question with the scope you want, and say where the answer should go. The file is written into the vault, so it is in the folder with everything else and is committed by Git like any other file.
Instead of a new file, an answer can be written into the note you have open. That goes through the same history as anything you type, so it can be undone.
The scope you set decides what the assistant reads, not the format it writes. Asking for a spreadsheet of this month's expenses over Vault scope will read the whole vault to build it; over the expenses Folder it will not.
